Scotland recall Kerr & Thomas for World Cup play-offs

Liverpool midfielder Sam Kerr and Newcastle United forward Martha Thomas have returned to the Scotland squad for October's Women's World Cup play-off against the Czech Republic. Head coach Melissa Andreatta's side will travel to Pardubice on October 9 before hosting the return fixture at St Mirren Park four days later. The winner will advance to face either Sweden or Lithuania for a place at next summer's tournament in Brazil.

Kerr earns her first selection under Andreatta, having last played in February 2025, while Thomas returns after earning her 50th cap in October. Freya Gregory, Sophie Howard, and Maria McAneny also rejoin the squad, while defenders Leah Eddie and Kenzie Weir, along with forwards Eilidh Adams and Laura Berry, have dropped out.
