The Houston Astros may be leading the American League West Division standings as the regular season winds down to a close, but it doesn’t mean that all is well with the MLB postseason on deck.In fact, the latest update is…

The Houston Astros have placed starting pitcher Cristian Javier on the 15-day disabled list due to groin tightness. Javier exited after two innings during Houston's 7-0 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday, despite expressing postgame optimism that treatment would allow him to make his next scheduled turn in the rotation.
Javier holds a 2-6 record with a 5.14 ERA, a 1.46 WHIP, and 59 strikeouts across the 2026 season. The setback comes as the 78-79 Astros lead the American League West Division and prepare for the upcoming postseason.
