The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned outfielder Josue De Paula and right-handed pitcher Kyle Hurt to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday. The roster moves coincided with the Dodgers reinstating designated hitter and pitcher Shohei Ohtani from the injured list, as well as pitcher Tarik Skubal from the bereavement list.
Ohtani returned to the lineup to bat second against San Diego Padres left-hander Robbie Ray after missing more than two weeks with knee and biceps soreness. Prior to his demotion, the 21-year-old De Paula batted .323 with a home run, seven RBIs, and 11 walks.
