V’Landys steps down from second role, NRL direction clears

Peter V'Landys has stepped down from his position as CEO of Racing NSW to officially become the permanent CEO of the NRL. The move was approved by NRL clubs and endorsed by the Australian Rugby League Commission, with the NRL confirming the appointment on Thursday afternoon. V'Landys will permanently replace Andrew Abdo, who departed to join Tennis Australia.

Meetings regarding the transition were chaired by Sydney Roosters chairman Nick Politis, with ARLC chairman Peter Beattie endorsing V'Landys' ongoing leadership. V'Landys will officially fulfill his contract with Racing NSW until November 30 before leading the NRL's future expansion efforts.
