Liberatore allowed six hits, walked none, and struck out six to earn the win, snapping the Pirates' season-high five-game winning streak.
Pittsburgh opened the scoring in the second inning with a solo home run by Brandon Lowe, his 34th of the season. St. Louis countered with three runs in the third inning behind an RBI single from Alec Burleson, a wild pitch, and a run-scoring hit by Leo Bernal, followed by RBI hits from Masyn Winn and Wetherholt in the fourth.
