Star wanted by Nottingham Forest explains why he rejected Oliver Glasner for £55m move

Midfielder Tijjani Reijnders has explained that financial security drove his decision to join Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah instead of remaining in Europe. Nottingham Forest and head coach Oliver Glasner had targeted the midfielder following Elliot Anderson's departure to Manchester City, but Reijnders completed a permanent move to the Middle East.

Speaking to Dutch outlet SBS6, Reijnders confirmed money was the main factor, noting his five-year contract worth around £18 million per year ensures long-term wealth for his family. Forest ultimately signed Xaver Schlager on a free transfer while relying on James McAtee in midfield.
