Portsmouth boss addresses defender’s Fratton Park future amid Bradford loan frustration

Portsmouth head coach John Mousinho has confirmed that defender Hayden Matthews still has a future at Fratton Park despite his current lack of league action on loan at Bradford City. The Australian center-back joined Bradford on a season-long loan to secure playing time after dealing with injuries, but he has yet to feature in any of their first five League One matchday squads.

Mousinho emphasized that Portsmouth has high hopes for Matthews and does not want him to leave permanently, though the club plans to review the situation in January. Matthews has made two cup starts for Bradford, including an appearance in a Vertu Trophy victory over Newcastle Under-21s and a 3-1 Carabao Cup win against Leyton Orient.
