Former captain Scott Brown stated that Celtic's season depends on managing their packed domestic and European schedule. Despite leading the Scottish Premiership by two points, Martin O'Neill's side has faced scrutiny following consecutive defeats to Rangers and a home Europa League loss to Ferencvaros, alongside an earlier Champions League play-off exit against LASK.

Brown noted that the international break could provide relief from recent pressure. Celtic must navigate eight Europa League fixtures through January, while Derek McInnes' Rangers have no European fixtures. Celtic chief executive Michael Nicholson recently issued a statement confirming the club's support for manager O'Neill.
