Veteran Super League retiree Josh Griffin makes code switch as next move confirmed

Super League veteran Josh Griffin has come out of retirement to sign with amateur rugby union outfit York RUFC. The 36-year-old previously retired from rugby league in June after rupturing his pectoral muscle while playing for York Knights against Toulouse Olympique.

Griffin, who made 332 professional rugby league appearances across an 18-year career, previously played rugby union for Leeds Carnegie between 2012 and 2014. York RUFC, who compete in the fifth-tier Regional 1 North East division, have also signed former Hull FC youth product Reece Dean.
