Sportsnet names Moritz Seider its 37th-best NHL player

Sportsnet ranked Detroit Red Wings defenseman Moritz Seider as the 37th-best player in the NHL entering the 2026-2027 season. Seider climbed into the top 50 rankings after being unranked the previous year, following a standout individual campaign from Detroit's blue line.

During the 2025-26 season, the 2019 sixth-overall pick tallied a career-high 60 points and logged over 25 minutes of ice time per game, which ranked third in the league behind Quinn Hughes and Zach Werenski. Seider also earned the first Norris Trophy votes of his career, following an August recognition where NHL Network ranked him as the 30th-best player overall and ninth-best defenseman.
