Bristol Bears director of rugby Pat Lam has announced that new signing Ethan Staddon will miss most of the season due to a serious knee injury. The flanker, who recently signed from West Country rivals Bath, underwent surgery to repair his ACL and possibly his MCL before playing a competitive match for the club. Bristol is preparing for their Gallagher Premiership campaign opener against Sale Sharks.
Staddon joins full-back Noah Heward on the sidelines with an ACL injury. In addition, Lam revealed that Fijian back Kalaveti Ravouvou is expected to miss approximately 12 weeks after sustaining a knee injury during Fiji's Pacific Nations Cup semi-final victory over Canada.
