Thursday night’s opening game for Week 3 will see Michael Penix Jr. make his season debut with the Falcons. Atlanta’s other left-handed quarterback is set to be available as well.
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is expected to dress as the backup quarterback in Week 3 on Thursday night. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is set to make his season debut as the starter after recovering from a partially torn ACL.
Tagovailoa previously signed a one-year veteran minimum contract with the Falcons following his release by the Miami Dolphins. Head coach Kevin Stefanski now has his full quarterback group available as the 0-2 Falcons look for improved production following starts by veteran Cooper Rush.
