Four Calgary Flames prospects officially made their Canadian Hockey League debuts over the weekend across the WHL and OHL. Simon Katolicky debuted for the OHL's Sarnia Sting and scored a goal in his first period, while Jakob Leander suited up for the Calgary Hitmen, Bode Laylin joined the Everett Silvertips, and Mace'o Phillips played for the Medicine Hat Tigers in the WHL.
Additional prospects also opened their campaigns, including Joe Iginla scoring in the Vancouver Giants' season-opening win against Kelowna. More Flames prospects will begin their seasons soon, with the AHL's Calgary Wranglers hosting their opener on October 2 alongside the start of NCAA hockey competition.
