Alan Shearer suggested that Alexander Isak should have insisted on taking Liverpool's late penalty in the 2-2 draw against Newcastle last month, having been given a hostile reception

Liverpool striker Alexander Isak responded to Alan Shearer's criticism regarding his decision not to take a late penalty against Newcastle United on August 23. Following a hostile reception at St James' Park, Liverpool secured a 2-2 draw courtesy of Dominik Szoboszlai's late spot-kick.
Speaking to Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen, Isak labeled Shearer's comments as irrelevant and stated penalty duties are team decisions. The 27-year-old forward has scored four goals in five Premier League matches this season under Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola.
