Rinya Nakamura is set to return to the Octagon against Brady Hiestand at UFC Vegas 121 on Saturday night. Speaking at a media day scrum, Nakamura stated that he anticipates a gritty bout and expects his opponent to drag him into deep waters. Rather than forcing a stoppage, Nakamura explained that he plans to focus on the present moment and trust that a finish will materialize naturally.
The upcoming bout marks Nakamura's return following a significant layoff caused by multiple physical setbacks. The bantamweight revealed he previously tore a shoulder tendon and his MCL, leading to his prolonged absence. Now fully recovered, Nakamura stated that his condition is the best it has ever been as he prepares to face Hiestand.
