UFC CEO Dana White revealed that Song Yadong and Sean O’Malley are the two contenders in line to fight bantamweight champion Petr Yan next. Yan secured a unanimous decision victory over Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi to conclude their trilogy. Following the bout, White confirmed that he and the matchmakers spent the evening discussing both potential matchups.
While Daniel Cormier suggested Song Yadong during the post-fight interview, Yan stated he does not pick his opponents. Meanwhile, former champion Sean O’Malley publicly pushed for the rematch, arguing he holds past victories over both Yan and Yadong and should be next in line.
