Lucas Spence’s first 3 career homers keep Astros tied atop AL West

Rookie Lucas Spence hit his first three career home runs and drove in five runs to lead the Houston Astros to a 7-5 victory over the Athletics on Thursday in West Sacramento, California. Isaac Paredes and Christian Walker also hit solo home runs for Houston, which remained tied with the Texas Rangers atop the American League West with a 79-80 record.

Zack Gelof hit two home runs and Jeff McNeil added a three-run blast for the Athletics. Houston reliever Miguel Ullola earned the win with three scoreless innings, while Brayan Abreu recorded the final four outs to earn his ninth save of the season.
