Klopp and Kimmich hit back at Netherlands and Liverpool star van Dijk over “disgrace” goal criticism

Germany manager Jürgen Klopp and captain Joshua Kimmich have rejected criticism from Netherlands defender Virgil van Dijk following a 1-1 UEFA Nations League draw in Amsterdam. Van Dijk called Felix Nmecha's opening goal a "disgrace" because Germany did not stop play after Dutch forward Brian Brobbey sustained an injury.

Klopp defended the goal as completely legitimate, stating that his team capitalized on the situation while Netherlands players stopped playing. Kimmich also dismissed Van Dijk's remarks as not a considered response, emphasizing that halting the match for an injured player remains the referee's responsibility rather than that of the competing teams.
