NHL Notebook: Blue Jackets sign Adam Fantilli to six-year extension

The Columbus Blue Jackets announced on Thursday that forward Adam Fantilli has signed a six-year contract extension worth $13.75 million annually. The deal secures the 21-year-old forward through the 2031-32 NHL season following a brief holdout during the opening week of training camp. Fantilli, chosen third overall in the 2023 NHL Draft, has accumulated 140 points in 213 career regular-season games with Columbus.

In other league developments, the Anaheim Ducks named veteran forward Mikael Granlund as the 10th captain in franchise history on Tuesday. Granlund takes over the leadership role following the off-season departure of Radko Gudas to the Florida Panthers. The 34-year-old forward previously scored 41 regular-season points and 10 playoff points during his first campaign with Anaheim.
