Mikey Musumeci has confirmed plans to transition from grappling to mixed martial arts following his decision victory over UFC fighter Bryce Mitchell. The pair competed under a gentleman's agreement to avoid leg locks, with Musumeci ultimately earning the win on the scorecards despite Mitchell holding a noticeable size advantage.

Speaking to media in Las Vegas, Musumeci revealed he nearly scheduled an MMA fight for the same weekend before opting to focus on cutting to the 125-pound flyweight division. He also indicated that he may vacate his UFC BJJ bantamweight title to pursue his MMA career from the ground up.
