Bayern icon Rummenigge admits he opposed extending Eberl’s contract

Bayern Munich supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that he chose not to vote in favor of extending Max Eberl's contract during a recent board meeting. Speaking to Abendzeitung, the 71-year-old explained that he had seriously contemplated voting against the renewal before ultimately deciding to abstain from the official vote.

Rummenigge noted that he wanted to make an independent choice rather than follow prior recommendations. He stated that he had internally voiced concerns to the board regarding several unspecified issues leading up to the vote, though the club ultimately proceeded with extending Eberl's stay.
