Canadiens Special Teams: Revamped Units Feature New Players

The Montreal Canadiens revealed a look at their revamped special teams units during practice, aiming to build on a 10th-ranked power-play efficiency of 23.1% from last season. Head coach Martin St-Louis kept the primary power-play configuration intact, featuring Juraj Slafkovsky, Nick Suzuki, Ivan Demidov, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson. The group maintained continuity following steady statistical gains driven by young contributors in recent seasons.

Changes are underway on the second power-play unit with the addition of newcomer Chris Kreider, who leads the NHL in tipped goals over the last three seasons. The second unit's practice grouping included Kirby Dach, Zachary Bolduc, and Alexandre Texier, with Florian Xhekaj and Adam Engstrom serving as placeholders while Kreider and Noah Dobson worked with the penalty kill.
