Some notable names failed to make it past 36 holes at the Le Golf National event

Former Open champion Cameron Smith is among the high-profile players facing an early exit at the Open de France at Le Golf National. While Matt Fitzpatrick, Viktor Hovland, Ludvig Aberg, and Tommy Fleetwood advanced safely to the weekend, several notable golfers fell short of the projected three-under cut line before play was suspended due to bad light.
Smith's chances ended following two double-bogeys across his final three holes, including hitting the water on the 18th hole. Carlos Ortiz also missed out after finishing one over par, while Bud Cauley, Victor Perez, and Shaun Norris remain on the wrong side of the projected cut pending the resumption of play on Saturday.
