Angus Bell wants to become the world’s best loosehead prop, but as he prepares to face the Springboks, he admits his relentless pursuit of improvement has a mental cost.
Angus Bell transitioned from attending Newington College on a cricket scholarship to establishing himself as a key loosehead prop for the Wallabies. After telling his father, former Wallaby Mark Bell, about his career ambitions at age 16, Bell made his Test debut at age 20 in a 28-26 victory over South Africa on the Gold Coast.
Now 25, Bell aims to win a World Cup and become the best loosehead prop in the world. He credited his ongoing technical development to veteran teammates James Slipper and Scott Sio, scrum coach Mike Cron, and a recent sabbatical with Ulster.
