Goodman reaches 40-HR milestone, and Rockies want more

Hunter Goodman reached the 40-home-run milestone and added his 41st on Saturday night in the Colorado Rockies' 9-6 victory over the Chicago White Sox at Rate Field. His performance brought his road home run tally to 25, breaking Johnny Bench's 1972 record for the most road home runs by a National League primary catcher.

Goodman's total marks the most home runs by an NL catcher since Javier López hit 43 in 2003. Despite Colorado falling to a 58-103 record, the club reportedly intends to resist trade inquiries for Goodman, who becomes arbitration-eligible this offseason.
