Report: Julian Ward already making plans for first Liverpool signing

Julian Ward has officially returned as Liverpool's sporting director, replacing Richard Hughes following an announcement on Saturday. As the winter transfer window approaches, Ward has reportedly targeted Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni as a potential first permanent signing to strengthen the squad's midfield.

Liverpool had previously pursued the 26-year-old French international during Ward's first spell as sporting director before the player joined Real Madrid. Although Tchouameni remains under contract with the Spanish club until 2031, Ward is reportedly preparing to reignite the club's long-term interest in securing his transfer.
