Sharks Close Out Preseason With 4-2 Victory Over Golden Knights

The San Jose Sharks closed out their preseason schedule with a 4-2 road victory against the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday night. Both clubs iced near regular-season lineups for the contest, which included newly appointed Sharks captain Macklin Celebrini. San Jose gained an early edge despite Vegas controlling significant portions of play, with Dmitry Orlov opening the scoring on a power play late in the first period.

Celebrini doubled San Jose's lead in the second period, beating goaltender Carter Hart for his first goal wearing the captain's "C". Vegas eventually responded on a power play later in the frame, when Tomas Hertl converted a loose puck past goaltender Yaroslav Askarov.
