Alexander Isak sent home from international duty as Liverpool release statement

Alexander Isak has withdrawn from the Sweden national squad to return to Liverpool after sustaining a minor injury on international duty. Liverpool confirmed the striker will be assessed at the AXA Training Centre and will miss Sweden's next three fixtures. Isak scored in Sweden's 2-1 victory over Romania before suffering the knock.

The 27-year-old reportedly sustained a toe injury during the match, while Swedish media outlets claim he also suffered a thigh issue. Sweden head coach Graham Potter will be without the forward for matches against Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Romania ahead of Liverpool's fixture against Manchester City on October 11.
