Liverpool player Jeremie Frimpong has been left out of new manager Xavi's 23-man matchday squad for the Netherlands' Nations League clash against Serbia. The 25-year-old was the only player on international duty with the Dutch squad excluded from the official UEFA team sheet, with Arsenal right-back Jurrien Timber returning from injury to take his place.

Frimpong previously sat on the bench during a 1-1 draw against Germany on Thursday. The exclusion follows a difficult start to his Liverpool tenure, where he has featured in three of five Premier League matches this season after joining from Bayer Leverkusen for a £29.5 million release clause.
