Islanders sign Logan Stanley to one-year contract

The New York Islanders announced on Sunday that they have signed defenseman Logan Stanley to a one-year contract. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the contract carries a salary cap hit of $1.5 million for the 2026-27 season. The 6-foot-7 blueliner split the 2025-26 campaign between the Winnipeg Jets and Buffalo Sabres before entering free agency.

Stanley recorded 26 points in 76 regular-season games last season, helping the Sabres win the Atlantic Division. He will not participate in any preseason games with New York as the team has completed exhibition play ahead of their season opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sept. 30.
