Former Middlesbrough player Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has advised striker Will Lankshear to avoid focusing on potential England senior team call-ups. Hasselbaink emphasized that Lankshear must maintain his focus and work ethic with Middlesbrough before considering international honors. The 21-year-old forward recently scored on his debut for England's U21 side under manager Lee Carsley.

Lankshear joined Middlesbrough from Tottenham Hotspur for an initial £8 million fee that could rise to £20 million with add-ons. He has scored eight goals in his first 11 games across all competitions, including six league goals to help Middlesbrough suffer just one defeat in their first eight Championship fixtures.
