The contest was originally scheduled for 3:20 p.m. in New York, but Major League Baseball and the teams opted for an earlier start due to forecasts predicting heavy rain in the late afternoon.

This decision marks the third schedule alteration of the week for the Orioles. Earlier in the week, Tuesday's game against Toronto was rained out and rescheduled as part of a Wednesday doubleheader, while Saturday's game against the Yankees was shifted to a Friday doubleheader. Shane Baz is scheduled to start on the mound for Baltimore against New York's Elmer Rodríguez.
