Maybe Luke Evangelista Found a Happy Home in New Jersey

After being traded from Nashville to the New Jersey Devils, 24-year-old winger Luke Evangelista appears positioned for a major role heading into the 2026-27 NHL season. In New Jersey's preseason finale, Evangelista scored two goals to help secure a 4-1 victory over the New York Islanders.

Evangelista is slated to open the regular season on the Devils' top line alongside Timo Meier and Nico Hischier, while also seeing time on the top power-play unit with Jack Hughes. Evangelista joined the Devils following a career-best campaign where he recorded 56 points, including 12 goals and 44 assists.
