The Cincinnati Reds concluded their 2026 Major League Baseball regular season with a 5-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday. Toronto starting pitcher Max Scherzer pitched into the eighth inning, throwing 114 pitches and striking out seven batters to earn the win. With the defeat, Cincinnati finished the season with a 75-87 record, placing them in last place in the National League Central as both clubs missed the postseason.
Individual milestones and roster challenges highlighted the Reds' season finale. Elly De La Cruz reached the 30-30 milestone prior to entering salary arbitration, while rookie Sal Stewart experienced a late-season slump. Starting pitcher Hunter Greene missed effectively the entire season with an injury and is projected to miss the 2027 season as well.
