Hurricanes’ new Hope for BBL|16 as Windies skipper returns

West Indies white-ball captain Shai Hope has signed with the Hobart Hurricanes for the entire KFC BBL|16 season. The 32-year-old wicketkeeper-batter returns to Hobart for a second stint after previously featuring in five matches during the club's BBL|14 title-winning campaign. His signing marks the Hurricanes' first overseas men's acquisition ahead of the new tournament.

Hobart targeted Hope to bolster their top-order batting and wicketkeeping following the retirement of Matthew Wade. The move also follows the conclusion of England allrounder Chris Jordan's two-year contract, which expired at the end of last season.
