Ferrari’s top target doesn’t want Fred Vasseur’s job after seeing how they treat team bosses

Ferrari reportedly wants Antonello Coletta, the head of their World Endurance Championship program, to replace Fred Vasseur at the end of the season. Vasseur's position has come under scrutiny as Ferrari's championship hopes faded, with recent engine upgrades failing to close the gap to Mercedes alongside execution issues. Chairman John Elkann and CEO Benedetto Vigna have reportedly tried to persuade Coletta to take over the Formula 1 team.

Coletta has led Ferrari's endurance division since 2014, overseeing three consecutive Le Mans 24 Hours victories from 2023 to 2025. However, Coletta reportedly doubts he has the required experience to lead the Formula 1 team. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton has recently questioned Vasseur's management after strategic decisions hindered his pursuit of Kimi Antonelli.
