Italy’s new generation: Why Mancini is already running out of time

Roberto Mancini has selected a 34-man Italy squad featuring ten potential debutants for upcoming fixtures against Belgium, France, and Turkey. Mancini, who returned as the Azzurri head coach in July on a contract running through 2030, stated that he must quickly evaluate new players while securing results in the Nations League A1 Group.

Matteo Ruggeri was added to the squad to replace the injured Federico Dimarco, bringing the total number of uncapped call-ups to ten. Mancini explained that several experienced players were left out so the coaching staff could assess younger talent ahead of competitive matches.
