McLaren team principal Andrea Stella identified straight-line speed deficiencies and power unit optimization as urgent concerns following the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Both drivers failed to score points in Baku, as Lando Norris retired following a crash with Franco Colapinto, and Oscar Piastri finished 13th after a lockup cost him a podium position.
Stella explained that McLaren's Mercedes power unit was not fully optimized compared to the works team, particularly regarding fuel injection issues.
