Roma welcome ‘a new phase’ after stadium project approved

AS Roma have officially entered a new phase in their long-running stadium project after receiving final approval from the Services Conference. The declaration of public utility grants the club the green light to proceed with constructing their new home in the Pietralata area of Rome. Construction is scheduled to break ground in March 2027 under the direction of the club's owners, the Friedkin Group.

According to Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri, the stadium is targeted to open its doors to supporters by 2029. The venue is also slated to serve as one of the host arenas for Italy and Turkey's co-hosted UEFA Euro 2032 tournament.
