Stevenson set to be Skinner’s backup

The Winnipeg Jets claimed goaltender Clay Stevenson off waivers on Monday to serve as the backup to starting goaltender Stuart Skinner. Stevenson, 27, joins the Jets from the Washington Capitals organization after facing a crowded depth chart behind Logan Thompson and Charlie Lindgren.

Stevenson holds a 3-2 record with a 2.60 goals against average and a .906 save percentage across five career NHL appearances. Following his waiver claim, goaltender Domenic DiVincentiis is expected to be reassigned to the AHL's Manitoba Moose as Winnipeg finalizes its 23-man opening night roster.
