The sacrifice Jose Mourinho made to return to Real Madrid

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho reportedly turned down the opportunity to manage the Portugal national team before returning to Real Madrid earlier this summer. According to a report by Jose Felix Diaz, Mourinho held discussions with directors from the Portuguese football federation, but chose to rejoin the Spanish club once they contacted him.

Mourinho previously managed Real Madrid for three years between 2010 and 2013. The report notes that although the Portuguese manager had received offers from his home country's national team in the past, he opted instead to return to club management at Real Madrid.
