Ellis, Davies ruled out to further deplete Aussies

Nathan Ellis and Joel Davies have been ruled out of the final ODI of Australia's tour against South Africa in Potchefstroom due to soft-tissue injuries. Ellis suffered a left side strain after bowling only four overs in Sunday's 32-run defeat at the Wanderers, while Davies sustained a right hamstring strain while fielding as a substitute. Additionally, all-rounder Jack Edwards is being monitored for a hamstring concern following his maiden five-wicket haul.

The injuries add to a heavily depleted Australian squad that previously lost Josh Inglis to a broken finger and Billy Stanlake to a side strain. If Edwards is unable to play, Australia will have only 12 fit squad members remaining for the final match, potentially requiring visiting Test players to assist as substitute fielders.
