Sunderland’s predicted final Premier League position ahead of Brighton and Bournemouth tests

Opta's statistical model has projected Sunderland to finish 15th in the Premier League table with 44.75 points. Manager Regis Le Bris' side collected four points from their opening five fixtures of the campaign while playing against three clubs currently occupying top-four positions.

Sunderland will face Brighton and Hove Albion and AFC Bournemouth following the international break. The prediction follows a season in which Sunderland secured seventh place and qualification for the Europa League after their Championship play-off victory.
