AFC Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott is likely to leave the club but could first sign a new contract containing a release clause, according to a report from TeamTalk. The 23-year-old has reportedly rejected previous contract offers from Bournemouth, but a new deal with an active release clause set for next summer could facilitate a future permanent transfer to interested suitors like Chelsea and Liverpool.
Chelsea are actively monitoring midfield reinforcements after Enzo Fernandez completed a deadline-day departure to Manchester City, leaving the squad short in central midfield. Any proposed release clause for Scott would reportedly be set at a very high valuation and is not expected to become active until the summer transfer window.
