Manchester City has reportedly been found guilty of almost all of the 115 charges brought against the club by the Premier League following a multi-year investigation into its financial accounts from 2009 to 2018. An independent commission reportedly ruled that the Abu Dhabi-controlled club was guilty of 114 of the 115 alleged rule breaches.
The verdict comes after years of dominance during which Manchester City won eight Premier League titles and the 2023 Champions League with stars such as Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, and Erling Haaland. Manchester City is expected to appeal the ruling, with the club's chief executive stating they will fight the decision.
