Sunderland goalkeeper Melker Ellborg has been speaking about his transfer to the North East earlier this year.

Sunderland goalkeeper Melker Ellborg has reflected on his permanent move from Swedish club Malmo to the Stadium of Light, which took place in January. Speaking on the Fotbollskanalen podcast Lundh, the Swedish international admitted he initially had to look up Sunderland on a map application before finalizing his transfer to manager Regis Le Bris' side.
Ellborg noted that Sunderland's strong Premier League campaign and positive momentum made them an attractive destination. Serving primarily as an understudy to Robin Roefs, Ellborg has made five senior appearances so far, and revealed he watched episodes of the documentary 'Sunderland 'Til I Die' ahead of his arrival.
