The Miami Dolphins have signed linebacker Shaka Heyward off the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad to their 53-man active roster. The move comes ahead of the Week 5 matchup between the two teams, potentially allowing Heyward to play against Cincinnati. Miami targeted Heyward for depth after injuries to linebackers Kyle Louis and Ronnie Harrison Jr.
Heyward previously served as an important special teams contributor for the Bengals, logging 301 special teams snaps from 2024 to 2025. Following Heyward's departure and Joe Giles-Harris's promotion to the active roster, the Bengals are left with only five linebackers in the building and no linebackers remaining on their practice squad.
