Former Detroit Red Wings netminder Jimmy Howard has been named the goaltenders coach for PWHL Detroit. The 42-year-old spent his entire 14-season NHL career in Detroit, posting a 246-196-70 record across 543 games, including two NHL All-Star selections and a Stanley Cup victory in 2007-08.
PWHL Detroit general manager Manon Rheaume highlighted Howard's extensive experience and connection to the city as key assets for the goalies. The expansion team, coached by Josh Sciba, is scheduled to begin play in the fall.
