Dallas Cowboys Make Move to Sign 4-Year Veteran Defender

The Dallas Cowboys are signing four-year veteran safety Juanyeh Thomas, reuniting with the defensive back who spent 2022 through 2025 with the team. Thomas worked out alongside four other free agents on Tuesday before agreeing to return. Dallas also reached a deal to add cornerback Alex Austin to its practice squad to reinforce a heavily depleted secondary.

The roster moves follow significant injury setbacks in Dallas, including safety Jalen Thompson facing at least four weeks out with a hamstring injury. Malik Hooker and P.J. Locke are also sidelined, forcing executive vice president Stephen Jones and the team to seek immediate reinforcements familiar with the defensive system.
