Dallas Cowboys second-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer may already be in owner Jerry Jones' bad books.
Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer publicly accepted blame for late-game missteps following a 34-31 Week 3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Rio de Janeiro. His comments followed sharp criticism from team owner Jerry Jones, who said on Tuesday there was no explanation for the coach's late fourth-quarter clock management and play-calling. Schottenheimer admitted he overcoached quarterback Dak Prescott on third down during the final 28 seconds.
Despite the public scrutiny, Schottenheimer stated that he and Jones had a productive discussion and remain closely aligned heading into Week 4. The coach acknowledged that his decisions hurt the team's chances to win during the matchup, which CBS announced drew a record-breaking peak of over 30 million viewers as the NFL's most-watched international game.
